
SUCCESSFUL RE-CERTIFICATION OF THE RUSSIAN SEA OF OKHOTSK POLLOCK FISHERY
The Alaska pollock fishery in the Russian Sea of Okhotsk has been successfully re-certified. In an announcement by Acoura, the certifier of the fishery, says: “Acoura Marine announce the release of the Public Certification Report for the above-named fishery and, subject to successful outcomes from surveillance audits, Russian Sea of Okhotsk pollock is certified under the MSC requirements for Sustainable Fisheries from the date of re-certification (after the current certificate expires on the 23rd September)and for five (5) calendar years following this date. The certificate anniversary date will therefore be 24th September 2018.”
The fishery was first certified under the MSC standard in 2013, which was in an important development for the Alaska pollock industry in Russia. Consumers all over the world can continue to enjoy MSC certified Russian Alaska pollock.
