Fish & Chip Awards is an event that celebrates fish and chips dish and industry, something which is so inherently dear to the Brits and which is cherished across generations. Fish and chips is a culinary symbol of the UK, instantly recognised as British. This year when Britain celebrates 75th Anniversary of Victory in Europe Day, we may remember Winston Churchill’s words when he referred to fish and chips as ‘Good Companions’. Moreover, famously British soldiers identified each other during the ‘D’ Day landings by calling out ‘fish’ and the response or password was ‘chips’.
